Use of the Wellbeing Dashboard
Residents did not recognise themselves in current figures
Residents did not feel seen and heard by the municipality sufficiently, who often carried out projects to improve the neighbourhood without the participation of residents. Moreover, residents did not see their daily lives reflected in the statistics about economy and prosperity in their neighbourhood.
Together with researchers from the University of Amsterdam, they joined forces to co-create the Wellbeing Dashboard. By learning from each other (capacity building), residents are able to decide for themselves which needs and priorities should be measured to give a picture of wellbeing in the neighbourhood.
The Wellbeing Dashboard helps local officials and other organisations to develop policies. So they can take the right actions to improve residents’ lives and monitor the results.

Residents and (local) government in dialogue
The Wellbeing Dashboard is a tool that gives residents the graphics in their hands. For example, about health, education, social interaction or environment. In a way so they can work with it.
In this way, local residents can enter into dialogue with the municipality and other organisations. We organise Dialogue sessions for local residents to practice this. And to learn from each other (‘capacity building’). Together, we work on solutions for a better neighbourhood!
